Another Great Quote

I have a short piece sitting on my desk. And right now, I was tempted not to send it. Then I visited Writer to Writer and came away with this quote:

So, I sent that sucker in. Just now. Boy, was that scary. But I got to write about one of my favorite topics, so even if it gets rejected I'm happy. I'll just re-tool it and find somewhere else to send it out. :-)

Great Quote

While I was cleaning out my inbox, I found this great quote. I printed it and am going to hang it where I'll see it as I work on my book proposal.

My Seven Things

So, over at Jenny B Jones' blog, she's having a neat contest. The rules are simple, leave a comment with seven things that make you happy at the moment. (You must be specific. And not general like "God or my family, etc".) The winner gets a copy of Chris Tomlin's new CD, Hello Love.

Here's my list of seven (actually nine) things that make me happy right now:

1. Listening the praise and worship on the radio

2. Getting to write about my favorite subject - chronically ill teenagers

3. The trip to the eye doctor tomorrow (maybe she’ll prescribe glasses and I can finally get out from under these massive headaches)

4. Reading your blog (that counts for double points, right??) Seriously, it always makes me laugh
5. Random trips to Wal-mart.

6. falling into vats of milk chocolate (ok, so that hasn’t happened *yet*. Still, a girl can dream.) Actually with my luck, I'd drown.

7. Sausage biscuits for supper. (Mmmm)

8. That I am healthy (for the moment)

9. That I have purple pads of paper to write on. Love that purple paper!

All About Me

I snagged this from someone else's blog. I don't remember whose blog it was. It was a link of a link sorta thing. Unfortunately for those looking for all the dirt, this is not the place to find it (you'll need my tell-all book).

I am: a child of God.

I think: about all the things I want to accomplish.

I know: I am loved.

I have: a great support system of family and friends.

I wish: I could see the bigger picture.

I hate: prejudices.

I miss: painting my nails.

I fear: making a fool of myself.

I feel: kinda hungry.

I hear: Unbreakable - still, lol.

I smell: something faintly in the air.

I crave: chocolate ice cream.

I search: for the line to walk.

I wonder: if I'm having my frozen meal for supper or not.

I regret: I don't. Life is too short for regrets.

I love: walking in the rain.

I am not: high maintenance. ; - )

I believe: in living everyday as though it's my last.

I dance: randomly when my favorite songs are on the radio.

I sing: unfortunately for those around me.

I cry: when something moves me deeply.

I don't always: share my heart with others.

I fight: with my younger sibs over the stupidest things.

I write: almost daily.

I win: Sorry, sometimes.

I lose: my watch and other things I need.

I never: leave the house without my pills.

I always: double-check things. Just to be sure.

I confuse: some of the letters in Lunch Letters. They look blurry sometimes. (I think it's the computer screen).

I listen: not often. lol, I try to listen when something is important. Otherwise, I like to wing it.

I can usually be found: at the computer. (Shocker!)

I am scared: of public restrooms. (Yeah, I know weird phobia)

I need: some Gatorade but that would involve leaving my warm computer chair.

I am happy about: the coming of fall.

I imagine: what it’ll be like when I sell a book. : - )

Where I've Been

I've been nagged, er asked to blog lately seeing as I haven't blogged in almost a month. (Has it really been that long?)

So without further ado, I'd like to share my excuse list for not blogging:

1. I'm working on a book proposal. Ok, so occasionally flipping through a book about book proposals, but still I'm working on it.

2. I'm trying to start a writing magazine for teenagers. I already have the perfect name for it. But I'm trying to figure out what program to use to build it (tried Joomla, but haven't been too impressed yet). The program will make a difference on where I register my domain name and buy hosting at.

3. I'm writing another novel. I'm almost ten thousand words in. No, I don't know why I keep doing this to myself. The voices ask me that daily.

When I am not working on these projects, I am doing super important things like finding an avatar to display with my Blogger profile, sending people annoying facebook messages, and reading.

I just finished Wendy Mass' Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life. This was a delightful book with plenty of twists and turns. I'll have to post a review this weekend.

Until then, I know you will all be waiting with bated breath. And yes, I chose the correct usage of bated over what is currently popular. : - )
